The 1st Global Chinese Writing Competition celebrating young learners creativity and passion for Chinese writing, fostering cross-cultural connections and academic excellence.
The 1st Global Chinese Writing Competition for Young Writers is a prestigious international competition designed to celebrate and nurture young learners’ talent and passion for Chinese writing. Jointly organized by the Association for International Education Development and Research (AIEDR) and International Bilingual Experts Education Management (IBE), the competition is supported by over a hundred educational institutions, including renowned international and bilingual schools worldwide.

Objectives of the Competition
First is to enhance participants’ creative writing skills and imagination while strengthening their ability to express ideas through effective communication. Second, it also encourages a deeper appreciation and interest in Chinese traditions and culture. Third is to establishes a unique platform for cross-school collaboration, and promotes the development of Chinese language education on a global scale
Competition Details
Eligibility Criteria
Open to students aged 12 to 19 from international and bilingual schools worldwide.
Two age groups:
- Junior High School (12-15 years old)
- Senior High School (16-19 years old)
Two language groups:
- Native speakers
- Non-native speakers
Participants will be categorized based on their region: Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas candidates.
Competition Themes
Participants may choose one of the following themes and create their own title:
- Opportunities and Challenges in the Pandemic Era
- Personal Perspective of Happiness
- The Power of Belief
Submission Guidelines
Writing Style: Participants may choose any genre of writing.
Word Limit:
Native speakers:
- Junior High: Max 1,200 Chinese characters
- Senior High: Max 2,000 Chinese characters
Non-native speakers:
- Junior High: Max 400 Chinese characters
- Senior High: Max 600 Chinese characters

Awards & Recognition
For Participants:
- All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.
- Each competition area will recognize:
- Champion, First Runner-up, Second Runner-up, and Strong Performance Awards with special trophies.
- Global Awards will also be presented with special trophies.
Selected outstanding works will be published in the Chinese Model Essays for Middle School Students in International Schools
For Participants:
- Excellent School Award for Teaching Chinese Writing – Awarded to the top three schools with the highest number of winners.
- Excellent Organization Award – Awarded to the top three schools with the highest number of participants.
- Excellent Coach Award – Given to teachers whose students achieve top three positions in regional competitions.
- Appreciation Certificates – Awarded to co-organizers, participating schools, and supporting organizations.
